You might have tried different options of carpet cleaning. You might have had it professionally done or you might have done it on your own. Have you ever thought of trying steam carpet cleaning?
Step-by-step process to do steam carpet cleaning
In steam carpet cleaning, a spray extraction tool or a want is used with hot water. It is paired up with a vacuum power unit. Afterwards, the cleaning chemical is placed under pressure. A water jet nozzle will have a very high pressure, which will be injected deep into the carpet.
Once the carpet absorbs all the water, the fiber in the carpet will remove all the soil, oil, grease or any kinds of dirt on it.
If there are other methods of cleaning carpets, there are also many types of steam carpet cleaners available. They come anywhere from small portable ones to large and powerful trucks. Either way, their functions are still the same.
The function may be the same but there is a slight difference. The trucks are designed so it is just the hose and the wand is taken into the area that needs to be cleaned. These kinds of units give hot water and high and produce a very high pressure of vacuum. The source of power used here are diesel fuel, gas, propane or even that of the truck’s motor.
This process is endorsed my most carpet cleaner professionals and carpet manufacturers for complete soil removal efficiency. With the technologies we have today, cleaning a carpet thoroughly is no problem.
However, the downside of steam carpet cleaning technology is that it can be the cause of over wetting and it may take a longer time than usual for the cleaned carper to dry. These problems can be overcome by a skilled operator and properly functioning machines.
The two methods for steam carpeting used today are:
1. A traffic lane cleaner is sprayed onto the traffic lanes of the carpet then agitated into the carpet fibers. A hot water extractor that has a cleaning solution being injected to the fibers then cleans the entire area.
2. An alternative to the first method is using a free rinse emulsifying pre-spray to be sprayed onto the carpet. It will then be agitated into the fibers.
Procedures for steam cleaning:
1. Prepare the equipment. Mix cleaning solutions properly.
2. Make a floor plan in order to orderly move furniture.
3. Remove furniture in the area to be cleaned.
4. Vacuum the entire carpet. Be sure to use the proper vacuuming equipment for each typr of carpet to ensure complete cleaning.
5. Use pre-spray solution. Just spray it evenly.
6. Agitate the pre-spray into the fibers. Use any grooming tool. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
7. Then use the carpet cleaner to clean and extract.
8. If the area is not yet clean, redo steps 5 to 7 until area is clean.
9. Then put back the furniture and rearrange. Viola! The carpet is clean!
